What is Ergothioneine or Ergothioneine?
Ergothioneine is an amino acid with a thiol / thione group. It is usually synthesized by certain fungi and bacteria. It is also found in many nuts, legumes, green leaves, mushrooms and seafood. It is found in mushrooms in higher concentration than any other source. It is also a metabolite of glutathione. It is usually a white crystalline solid, but it also comes in the form of a tasteless and colorless solution.
